Intricately Carved Sandstone Temple
The mammoth three-storey Ram Mandir showcases intricate carvings of Hindu gods and goddesses on sandstone pillars and walls. No iron has been used. Lord Ram’s idol has been placed in the main sanctum on the ground floor.
The temple has been built using traditional Hindu architectural techniques by Indian craftsmen and engineers. It features 5 halls, Ram’s historic well, and a restored Shiv temple complex.

As PM Modi noted, the consecration ceremony sparked a festive, Diwali-like mood across India. People celebrated by holding religious chants, making rangoli artworks dedicated to Lord Ram, organizing temple cleanliness drives, and lighting diyas.

In his speech, PM Modi called upon the youth of India to expand their mindset from just personal devotion towards Lord Ram to dedicating themselves to building a strong, prosperous nation.
He asked young people to draw inspiration from Ramayana characters like Hanuman, Jatayu, Sabri and the diligent squirrel who helped Lord Ram. Their qualities can make India mighty.

PM Modi emphasized that the Ram Mandir will herald India’s cultural roots while also marking its emergence as a leading world power. The temple is set to stand tall for generations, signaling the rise of a capable and self-reliant India.
The extravagant foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, spiritual leaders and the head priest of the Ram Mandir trust.
This consecration event marks the conclusion of a prolonged historical and legal tussle between Hindu and Muslim groups regarding ownership of the religious site in Ayodhya believed to be Lord Ram’s birthplace. The Supreme Court had ruled in 2019 that a temple could be constructed on the site.
